Erika Marina Nadir is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Italian at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her dissertation, entitled "Prima la musica o prima la parola," investigates the intersection of Italian literature and Italian opera.
While at UCLA, Erika was a Teaching Assistant for the Italian Department. She also served as the President of the UCLA Graduate Student Humanities Council 2009-2011. Erika earned the degrees of Candidate of Philosophy (2012) and Master of Arts (2009) in Italian Literature from UCLA where she also graduated with a B.A. in Italian and French (2007) Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude.
