I am a Ph.D. student in Italian Literature at UCLA currently teaching at Pasadena City College, Italian level 2. In my former life I was a lyric-soprano and sang many Italian opera roles, including 3 American premières of operas by the Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Gomes. I am currently finishing my dissertation entitled: Prima la musica o prima la parola which investigates the intersection of Italian opera with literature and film.
